Heavy Breathing at Tekserve. Murderously busy, these last few days. Lots of service as usual but plenty of sales. Sold two iMac Rev Bs for $999 and a pair of 233 (12" active matrix screen) Powerbooks for $1997. Ram, peripherals, etc. We're re-ordering more of each plus some beige 266/MS Office/56K for $1797. This past Saturday was about the busiest since I've been there. Brutal. We were seriously out manned with customers waiting over an hour after we closed. This is a company that analysts have concerns over its CPU sales? Free advice to these guys: We're not dropping our prices (or pants) to move inventory. Get a clue before you issue a downgrade. OK? Sat by a tech, and chewed the fat with a tech, while he installed ram on a "Blue and White". Such a beautiful machine. Elegant trappings. It has to be opened up to be truly appreciated. Bring a PC friend. Even if they don't care a bit about Apple or the MAcOS, they'll love this box. PS> Since I've upgraded to 8.5.1, everything is fine except I can't delete the annoying flashing "monitor/telephone pole" icon on the upper right corner of my menu. I used to be able to configure it off, but now I can't find the proper dialogue box. It also lets you prompt the browser to maintain the connection every 5 minutes or so. Anyone know what I'm looking for? TIA.
