>I thought Apple had started offering internal modems on the new G3's?<

Apple is offering internal modems and SCSI PCI as a BTO option at its Apple Store, but has not yet seen fit to make such items available to resellers.

>Do you see many consumers buying the new G3 -- perhaps getting drawn in by the i-mac and then deciding to upgrade?<

No. For the average home user, there is no cost/benefit trade off.

>I'm wondering if the new G3 might achieve imac-like sales volume as a hi-end consumer product.<

No. It's not designed to. Some may choose it -- along with a flat-panel Studio Display -- as a hot home/gaming system, but predominantly it's a mid-high end workstation/server.

It will garner higher margins but not more volume than the iMac.
