You can say things like "all people are created equal" but (imo) this is obviously untrue. A child with a 70 IQ will never be the equal of a child with an IQ of 140. You can try to finesse this by saying things like "Well we're all equal before the law" but of course that isn't true either. The rich man will get better justice than the poor one. You could try to say that communism is the answer, but then you just get party leaders getting better justice.

Man is, and always has been, a creature looking for advantage, and he will find ways to get advantage no matter what society he is in. It is, thus, better to build a society with man's greedy nature, and quest to outcompete his fellow man, in mind. That is not to say that we cannot soften the rough impulses of man, but you cannot ameliorate conditions that you ignore. You are fighting biology here, imo.

It is true we are a rich nation, and as such the dog eat dog is softened, but only for so long as we remain rich, and it is only softened, we're still dogs- or semi-hairless apes, if you prefer I mention this often, but many years ago I read the books Mountain People and Forest people:

JMO, of course.
