Freedom fries to now France is our best friend. Interesting.

Yeah, it is interesting. The change is that the French govt has changed to one markedly friendlier to the US. That means something good to conservatives. Wait and see if liberals start bashing Sarkozy now. Liberals started a Support the French thread on SI back when Chirac was working against US policy. When I posted about the change in French policy ( Message 23836604 ) there I was banned as I'd expected to be. Guess it wasn't good news to the former French supporters.

Similar significant improvements in relations have occurred with Germany and Canada and India. How could this be when we are told that Bush has wrecked our relations with the whole world?

If anyone here followed my advice some time ago to buy gold and alternate energy, they made money.

First, this isn't an investment thread. As far as your advice goes, you've generally pushed alternate investments (whatever that means) as something the govt s/b subsidizing and "investing" in. As far as the gold mention, it was on Oct. 24 when the upward trend in gold was already established. Hey, the upward move in gold will likely go on for some time. Now can I brag about that two weeks from now and claim it makes my political and foreign policy opinions right too?
