MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 16, 1997--TradeLink International Inc. (OTC:TRLK) has opened a sales office in New York City and has begun to offer cellular phone sales and rentals, pager sales and rentals, digital satellite service and discount long-distance through its subsidiary, Bridgeport Telecom Inc. ("Bridgeport"). Sales are initially being conducted through Wireless USA Inc., which is expected to become a division of Bridgeport later this month. With offices in Miami and New York, Bridgeport is positioned to offer communications services throughout the U.S. and throughout most of the Caribbean. In many major markets in the U.S., Bridgeport represents alternative local phone companies, providing pricing and service that are highly competitive with the primary local phone companies. Bridgeport also will be cooperating with its sister company, ExpoLink Inc., to provide cellular phone and pager rentals to trade show and convention exhibitors and attendees, and also will use trade shows and other special events to offer its full menu of wireless and long-distance services. TradeLink's President, Richard Herbst, views the New York office as an integral part of the company's ambitious plans to provide nationwide communications services through innovative channels. Herbst noted: "Bridgeport will continue TradeLink's goal of servicing often over-looked markets. In New York, this might mean selling through street fairs, universities, and professional associations. In other parts of the country, it might mean county fairs, church socials and quilting bees, riverboat casinos or theme parks. Everyone is entitled to have communications alternatives, and Bridgeport intends to provide them." Bridgeport is actively seeking other wireless and long-distance agents for consolidation and growth, and invites interested parties with at least $1 million in gross business annually to contact Herbst or Judi Jarvis, TradeLink's vice president and general counsel. |
