DJ: My hope is that Novell will protect the Channel. Having once been on the wrong end of an agreement (not with Novell) and had the supplying company go-around my company and direct to the customer, and selling at a lower price that I could buy from the supplying company, I know the pain and ill-will it creates.

If Novell can lock-in the current customers, for the upgrade and/or new product without damaging the Channel, then it should be beneficial to all.
