Jim: the other Russell story that's not told is one of dividend yield. (remember how big caps used to have dividends?) well, look at the composition of the russell: utilities (5% dividends) reits (8% dividends) little banks (2.5-3% dividends) little cyclicals (2%). So the stats don't take dividends into account.
