I missed that point you were trying to make and would agree with that conclusion. More likely to see some flawed stones the closer you get to the M-1, but also more likely to see larger stones as they do not readily transport in anything but the strongest current.

Lets assume for the sake of argument, a transport distance of 1 inch every year since erosion. 1 my = 15.78 miles. Could be a lot more and could be less, but factor in another 80 my's and you can see the picture.
