It happens all the time. Its "forced" because if you don't convert you get $2.16US instead of $37 worth of common. There is no liquidity in the Pfd. When you write a prospectus for a new issue you have to account for it. Pay a listing fee, pay the transfer agent. It adds complications all round. It is such a small amount, so get rid of them. At least they let us get the last semi annual dividend.
