Abbeydale,
I took his course in Calgary last May. I suspect that for most of the folks on this thread (anybody who is already staying at home and trading full time) his course would likely not have much interest.
Having said the above, here are my comments.
He is an excellent and interesting speaker, and holds an audience well. The software he uses (he is an Authorized Canadian Reseller) is Super Charts.
The morning session is spent on an introduction to some very basic technical analysis (trendlines, MACD, and Stochastics mainly) and basic money management techniques and strategies, as well as the basic psychology of trading (fear/greed).
The afternoon session is spent learning and going thru some specific trading examples using his "proprietary system" and the charting software. His "system" is quite "simple" and basically tries to identify short-term momentum stocks using his "proprietary" signal generating formula using the charting software.
He is quite conservative in his approach and preaches "volume and liquidity", and as such, he restricts himself to reviewing nothing but the stocks making up the TSE100 index.
In summary, for those who wish to practice (or are already practicing) "true" day-trading (no overnight holds) and who wish to "speculate" in stocks other than TSE100, there likely would be little value in his course. On the other hand, for those people who are not yet trading full time but are interested in doing so ... for those people who are looking for some basic guidelines, T/A, or someone to give them the inspiration and confidence to get them started full-time, this just might be the course you were looking for. |
