Thanks to bosquedog and gold_tutor.

My problem is due to my cluster size being 4K (determined with CHKDSK under MS-DOS). I don't know how this happened since I don't recall formatting the drive. For my size drive (@20GB), I should have 16K clusters. Running at 4K effectively reduces my hard drive to 8GB. I'll have to reformat to correct, but that's for another day (or year).
