House Democrats Want Worker Aid Before Trade Vote
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A group of moderate Democrats on Thursday demanded that an
impending vote on a controversial trade bill be delayed until the House of Representatives passes
legislation to improve benefits for U.S. workers.
With the timing of an agreement with the Senate on an economic stimulus package still unclear, a
spokesman for the House Ways and Means Committee said it was not possible to delay the vote on
trade promotion authority until then.

``We just can't deliver on stimulus before (the vote),'' the aide said
