Lance,
Yes, the potential of KM has indeed generated extreme volatility in the price of AXC. I, like everyone else, was hoping to see in the 10K some further developments in the KM story. Technology advancement in the use of KM with MR, or indications of the completion of another KM agreement would have made me a very happy camper.

On the other hand, "the Company is continuing to negotiate with other manufacturers that could become customers for keepered media". IMO, this was important to see since KM seems to be controlling the price action of AXC right now. I still believe that while these negotiations are taking place, the drive manufacturers that are really interested in KM are working out the technical aspects of putting together a KM drive program. They don't need to wait around for a piece of paper to get signed. My feeling is that progress is being made behind the scenes. Why would these negotiations continue if there was no interest in using this technology ?!?!

Several people have mentioned the risk of other technologies coming along and surpassing the improvements KM provides. This is always a risk in the world of technology. The beauty of KM is in its simplicity. It doesn't take a major development program taking years and costing millions of dollars to implement. This is a small incremental change to the manufacturing process that provides substantial improvement. It is hard to imagine that another technology could come along and provide the same bang for the buck. And now that one drive manufacturer is planning to use KM, others are going to need to do something to keep up! Price/performance is the name of the game in this business!!

In the mean time, AXC is down again while the DJIA is getting hammered.
