  Anacomp Announces Agreements to Sell Two First Image Business Units
  SAN DIEGO, July 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Anacomp, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANCO) today announced definitive agreements to sell two business units of the former First Image Management Company.
  In one of the agreements, ACS, a global business and technology services company headquartered in Dallas, Texas, has agreed to purchase from Anacomp all of the assets of the First Image business unit known as Document Acquisition Services (DAS). DAS provides data entry and capture services through six U.S. production centers.
  In a separate agreement, Southern Micrographix Company LLC, a leading provider of bill presentment, on-demand publishing, and micrographics services based in Birmingham, Alabama, has agreed to purchase from Anacomp all of the assets of the First Image business unit known as Document Print and Distribution Services (DPDS). DPDS provides print-and-mail, demand publishing, and direct marketing services through seven U.S. production centers. Following the sale, Southern Micrographix will become Anacomp's primary provider of print-and-mail services in the United States.
  The sale of DAS is contingent on regulatory approval. The sale of DPDS is contingent upon Southern Micrographix' completing its debt financing. Anacomp expects both sales to be consumated within 30 days. During the transition of DAS and DPDS to their new owners, the first priority will be to maintain the highest level of client service and to ensure a smooth transition for the employees.
