Craig, OCLI has its facility in the same town where I live. I've known this company for many years and had a tour several years ago. I haven't followed them so I'm not familiar with fundamentals but I was aware of their cooperation with JDS. OCLI specializes in thin film coatings for a wide array of products such as sunglasses, lamp bulbs, lamp reflectors, etc. They have less experience with thin film filters than a company like OCA. OCA has a process that is very well controlled and has very low temperature sensitivity. I'm not sure that OCLI has a process that can compete. OCA is working with Corning and is regarded as having the highest quality thin film filters. But this alliance gives JDS both thin film filters and fiber bragg gratings and depending on the application one of these technologies will be the preferred filter. So JDS has their hands in both areas. I'm not aware of any products that JDS has introduced with thin film filters. OCLI is a good company with a long track record. They are a major employer in this area. It remains to be seen what JDS can do with the capability at OCLI. Best regards, Tim
