SEPTEMBER TRAFFIC. Delta today reported traffic results for Sept. 1998.

Revenue passenger miles (RPMs)totaled 8.83 billion during September, an 11.7% increase from the same month a year ago.

System capacity increased 3.0% to 11.95 billion available seat miles (ASMs).

System load factor increased to 73.9% from 68.2% a year ago.
Passenger boardings for Sept. 1998 totaled 8,582,739.

DL's domestic traffic increased 10.3% to 6.47 billion revenue passenger miles on a 0.3% decrease in domestic capacity.

Domestic load factor increased to 71.3%, a 6.8 point increase from a year ago.

DL's international traffic increased 15.9% to 2.37 billion revenue passenger miles on an international capacity increase of 15.4%.
International load factor was 82.0%, an increase of 0.4 points vs. a year ago.

For the calendar year-to-date, DL's traffic grew 4.0% to 78.55 billion RPMs, while capacity increased 2.2% to 106.23 billion ASMs.

Passenger boardings for the period totaled 79,838,413.
