Michael...check this out. Loral stock is around $47-$48 right now.
One hundred shares of LOR will cost around $4700. And after the spin-
off, I'll get $38 per share ($3800) back in cash and be left holding
100 shares of Loral Space (LS) valued at approx $10 per share. My
remaining investment will only be $1,000. I don't have that much cash
to buy more LOR to get enough of LS. But, if I wait, and hope to
get in on time, I could turn my initial $4700 into around 470 shares.
I firmly believe the new spin-off will go up. The new LS will be made
up of 32% of Globalstar, 30% of Loral Space & Missiles, 28% of K&F
Industries (a brake manufacturer) and the rest in channel franchises
in Latin Amer/Euro. Plus, LS will have $714M in cash, and no outstand-
ing debt. Between Loral Space & Missiles and K&F, the annual revenue
is $120M. If Globalstar makes up 32%, and the market value of Global-
star is approx. $40, then LS should be worth at least $13.00. Just
wait till 04/05, when the tender offer should expire. I've got
my finger on the hot button for some more LS. P.S. I already have
enough LOR in my 401K, but my greed glands are working overtime.
Comments, ya'll?
