Jim,

Now you are talking, there is a tremendous world of difference between
"bought" and "an offer to buy".

<<In Wall Street Journal two weeks ago it mentioned that AT & T bought SBC to get their hands on Pac Bell>>

I do not disagree with you that infrastructure is a strong asset. However there are many companies building this infrastructure and despite the growing demands of bandwidth, bandwidth is actually getting cheaper. ACNS has tremendous liabilities on their balance sheets and is burning cash at a high rate, look at their quarterly statement.

As far as comments by someone else on the thread on MCI connection. I do recall reading that MCI has an investment in this company (i.e. owns a small percentage of stock). As fas as BFPT is concerned, the recent runup in BFPT follows a 40% drop earlier in the stock from low thirties to low twenties. BFPT is well managed and is not burning cash at such high rate as ACNS. BFPT has decent revenues and the recent runup is due to statements and speculation of an interest of takeover or purchase of BFPT by Worldcom.
