Select Regional Banks is a very good one for the next few years. There are just under 10,000 banks in the US, down from 14,000 in 1990. There will be around 4,000 within the next 10 years. All the smaller guys are being swallowed up via takeovers and mergers.

The funds that invest in these small guys are going to do very well for quite a while.

I also like the Select Food and the Select Utilities, if you believe that interest rates will trend downwards to about 6% on the lond bond.

Select Software is pretty good also. I met the current manager a little while back at some analyst meeting. Seems very bright and knowledgeable. You just wonder how long these guys will be with the funds, since Fidelity uses the Select funds as a training ground for their managers.

Later.
