Seem to be seeing demand for engineering tools on NT these days
(normally Unix). Why?:

I think what the market wants (really) is one environment (operating
system) that does everything. NT clearly cannot do what Solaris,Irix
and AIX etc do, so where do we go?

Solaris & AIX both support Wabi (Windows Application Binary
Interface), and Solaris also supports Mac applications through MAE.

- So my money is on SUN with Solaris assuming that they continue to
add Windows95/NT support, noting that it runs on Sparc [64 bit], Intel
x86/Pentium, and Power-PC hardware. Not sure about HP's future in OS's
- I've never liked their software much, but the hardware's OK, IBM's AIX is probably more likely to come in second in my opinion. DEC who?

- But that's a long term view :-)
