Short interest for ACTM over 12 months

viwes.com

It's a slow, steady increase for the most part. I was under the impression that a large % of these shares were due to a convertible or mergers but that doesn't seem to be the case. You don't really see any significant covering when it ran from 12 to 30 in Jan, but maybe the shorts simply re-established positions. Hard to say. So many techs had bounces of 50%+ that I cannot say how much of it was due to short covering.

SLR one of the leaders in the sector made a new low and turned higher. If the Nasdaq heads higher and SLR follows we could have a real winner short term. If it does run I may just take profits before each close and try to buy again the next day. I want to limit my exposure to any warnings.

SLR chart

207.61.23.98

SLR has already warned so the downside may be in, but unlike the ACTM chart the SLR chart still looks like a falling knife.

I'm keeping a tight stop loss for now though. If it goes below 11 1/2 I'd rather sell and watch from the sidelines.
