Applied Films Corporation Announces Underwriters' Exercise of Over-Allotment Option

LONGMONT, Colo., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Applied Films Corporation (Nasdaq: AFCO - News) announced today that the underwriters of its recent public offering of 3,000,000 shares of its common stock, which closed on October 7, 2003, have exercised their over-allotment option to acquire an additional 450,000 shares. The sale and purchase of these additional shares closed today and raised an additional $12,264,750 for Applied Films Corporation, bringing the total shares of its common stock sold to the public in the offering to 3,450,000 shares and the total net proceeds received to $94,029,750.

The offering was made through an underwriting syndicate led by Citigroup Global Markets Inc., as the sole bookrunning lead manager. CIBC World Markets Corp., Needham & Company, Inc. and Adams, Harkness & Hill, Inc. acted as co-managers.
