Promoting localization of CDMA

BEIJING— Datang Telecom Technology Co. Ltd has signed an agreement
with Qualcomm Inc. to develop CDMA communication equipment for the
mainland.

According to the agreement, Datang Telecom will get the needed software,
chipsets, and related technology for CDMA from Qualcomm.

Qualcomm will also provide testing equipment and support of engineering
technology. The cooperation between Datang and Qualcomm will promote the
localization of CDMA as well as third-generation 3G mobile communications in
the mainland.
