Intraday Investments Trading Summary for Friday, June 8, 2001

Friday was a good trading day for us. We recognized early in the morning session that the networking sector was going to be hammered hard over Juniper Networks' new relationship with institutional investors ;-) Even though we didn't have the opportunity to come into the day short JNPR, we pounced it short at the first opportunity and covered two thirds of our position for an intraday 3 point profit. We also made the following intraday trades: EXTR short + 40 cents, JDSU short + 25 cents, CORR short + 65 cents. We also got stopped out of our WMS short swing play for a 1.20 point loss.

We entered the following positions overnight going into the weekend: PDLI short, ATVI short, THQI short, JNPR short (kept one third of our position from intraday trade). We are also still holding our BKX calls short (with unrealized profits of about 7 points), IVGN short and CAT short (both with significant unrealized profits so far), and KKD calls short. We also have a GTC limit order to cover our BKX calls on the bid into downward momentum and will probably get filled on Monday.

This wiped out Thursday's losses, leaving us slightly net positive during the last two trading days. This shows why it is important to not get discouraged when you have a down day if you stick to your stop losses -- you can come back quickly without doing much damage to the equity curve.
