That's all it took to change the Zenith plant around. Replace Zenith management with Sony management and Sony designs.

With Sony management and designs the ex-Zenith workers magically became efficient, twice as productive, while defects declined from 6% to 0.2%, the same as in Sony plants in Japan.

Its the same reason Qantas, flying since 1923, has never had a fatal accident. At Qantas, pilots and mechanics have the final say - no one in management can over-ride their decisions. The safest airline in the world with great service.
