OT - Peter Mays "Unusual Wine Labels" website is loads of fun:

On the same topic, this 6/5/03 article from the SF Chronicle is entertaining too:

I've got a good wine weekend ahead. This morning, a private barrel tasting at Starry Night winery. I've tasted a few, and they've been terrific (a Zin and a Syrah). Then off for an afternoon of winery hopping in Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley north of Sonoma. Tomorrow we'll probably do Livermore Valley and then stop by Rosenblum Cellars' open house in Alameda -- always a huge event. The occasion is an out-of-town friend from Boston -- she's never been wine tasting before and has always wanted to do this.

Zeta (see the Biotech Valuation thread) and I tasted at Thomas Coyne last Sunday. Tom was pouring. Nice guy. We tasted and bought some of a very small release of an experimental Portugese dry red table wine. It was a blend of grapes usually used for making Port. It was great!!!!
