December Rate Cut

It would also keep alive what I see as a very slim chance of a further rate cut in December

Based on the article in this week's Barron's, I am specifically referring to comments by Lawrence Lindsey about Alan Greenspan and the Federal Reserve, and based on off the record comments by members of the Federal Reserve, and on the record comments by Alice Rivlin, I would be surprised if there was another cut in December. Based on those comments it seems that the Fed Governors were surprised by the reaction of the equity markets, now don't ask me why they would be they shouldn't have been, it would seem to me that rate cuts are on hold for a while.
