You might wish to check with your ISP to see if they have a reasonably close 56K alternative dial up. Many times it is the "last mile" to your house You can go to the 3COM home page and run a test of your line, and it will tell you if a 56K modem will work. It wouldn't in my case. I am on cable now, thank God!
