SmartServ and GoAmerica to Deliver New Mobile Financial Application
SmartServ's MobileMarkets(TM) to Deliver Professional
Financial Content Over Major Wireless Networks and Devices
STAMFORD, Conn., Jan. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- SmartServ Online, Inc.
(Nasdaq: SSOL), a leading Web and wireless application service provider and
GoAmerica, Inc. (Nasdaq: GOAM), a leading nationwide wireless data and
Internet services provider, today announced that they have executed an
agreement that allows GoAmerica to offer SmartServ's MobileMarkets(TM)
one-stop wireless financial application over the Go.Web(TM) service.
MobileMarkets(TM) will enable GoAmerica to provide wireless access to
high-end financial services, including real-time equity and option quotes,
market indices, time and sales, user-defined watch lists, currency tables
and
news. The companies will integrate Go.Web(TM) technology and wireless data
services with MobileMarkets(TM) to enable secure, remote access on major
wireless data networks and devices. GoAmerica will market this new wireless
package to buy-side and sell-side financial institutions and high-net-worth
individuals.
"We are extremely pleased to work with GoAmerica on this initiative,
which
will offer a whole new class of financial applications to those mobile
professionals who have been challenging the wireless industry to provide
them
with more powerful tools," said Sam Cassetta, Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer of SmartServ. "This agreement is an important step towards making
seamless, user-friendly wireless financial applications pervasive and
further
validates our strategy to help service providers offer more value to their
clients and create opportunities for additional revenue."
"Financial institutions have been among the first to embrace the power
of
wireless," said Joe Korb, president of GoAmerica. "We are excited to offer
SmartServ's MobileMarkets, allowing professionals to interact not only with
critical corporate information, but also to stay up to date on important
financial news and maintain control of investments when away from the desk."
GoAmerica's offering, slated for release within the first quarter of
2001,
will initially be available on Research in Motion's RIM 857 and 957 Wireless
Handhelds. GoAmerica will provide its security, tier-1 technical support,
wireless connectivity and mobile devices. With its MobileMarkets(TM),
SmartServ allows financial institutions and network service providers,
including ISPs, carriers and enterprises, to meet the needs of serious
investors in their user communities by moving beyond the delivery of only
quotes and news. Complex real-time information, such as trade-by-trade time
and sales, a 40 currency conversion calculator, the top 15 major market
gainers and losers by volume, price, volatility and percentage change,
market
equity indicators and a pre-defined watch list of more than 20 different
equity indices, allows the user to frame the market on the go. In addition
to
the host of solutions made available to GoAmerica, SmartServ's
MobileMarkets(TM) also has the capability to facilitate wireless securities
trading and to set and receive market and news alerts.
