The wrongs of the Versailles Treaty were used by Hitler as a pretext to advance his racial and political ideas. The idea of race clearly dominated Hitler's politics. A close reading of Meine Kampf will verify this. Hitler's opposition to the wrongs of Versailles were legitimate and this legitimate grievance was used by the National Socialists to recruit the Middle Class of Germany. Ethnic cleansing of all minorities from German territories was a corner stone of Hitler's racial ideology. Since Zionism was established by Herzl in the late 1800s, Hitler might have learned much of his ideas about a racial state from Theodor Herzl and his followers.
