What will cause it? There will be a bunch of smaller reasons stacked one atop the next. 5. failure of the etailers to perform during Xmas rush. 4. reduction of margin - increase in margin requirements 3. Some inflation in our "zero inflation environment" 2. Touches of Y2k around the edges of economy - if even 10% of in office phone systems, or PC's, or electrical generation & distribution, or regional phone companies have the slighest glitch the interent can be unreachable. While the big & urban electric & phone companies are said to be in shape, many are speaking less well of anything even slightly rural. & the number 1 reason: 1. LONG BOND! (& let's not forget the margin calls on the basic materials stocks) When will it happen? slow grinding down of current leaders with a redirection into other value names & some basic materials which willl do far better. Some small caps. The S&P may not take an overall hit. The "tulips" will die, though. It(the correction) will be "there" - done - by mid 2001 to mid 2002. rh Can I have the winnings in silver bullion?
