Ref: Syquest vs. Iomega...

It's sad to see Syquest digs itself into a hole where there is no way out.
But this is business, survival of the fittest - so real progress can be made.

By releasing the EZFlyer and bet everything they got behind it, Syquest is
digging itself into a deeper hole. Sad to see that their management still don't
get the picture which has gotten them into trouble in the first place.

Consumers do not want bulky, damage-prone, removable harddisks when there
are better alternatives. Removable hard disk technology is too expensive even
for mass production (no different than harddisks) to compete with Zip and Jaz
technology and to command a decent profit margin.

If Syquest 's new management is smart, they would cut their losses and abandon
removable harddisk technology, then obtain a license to make Zip and Jaz drives
for Iomega. They should be back in the black in no time.

I never have shorted any stock, but if there is one I would short now - it would
be Syquest. Bankcruptcy by the 4th quarter is my guess.
