Back to reality time.....My personal gut, BOTTOM LINE, conclusion: MZIP is FULL OF IT!! This guy is a shallow dancer.
If you respond to his game you are showing your own ignorance. Until MZIP shows positive, collaborative, sharing energy he will be undressed from here on out. MZIP - trial member - you've entered the internet. You have to give back more than you take. If you want to throw labels, barbs and crap on the floor, you better be able and willing to clean it all up. Back up what you say with substantive information that we have not heard before. Be a big man, open your heart and play this new game that calls for sharing, giving, exploring, expanding in a open, positive way. This is the path Novell is taking. Microsoft is taking the other path.
Microsoft is gradually being undressed before the world right now. It will be a very interesting fall season. Two "Bills" on stage being impeached from two different ends of the spectrum. From here on out, the power and freedom of the internet will seek out and expose anyone and anything that tries to play games with the truth. Have our two "Bills" been telling the truth? Have they been open? Have they been playing fair? Do they embrace and respect the power behind this "new economy" - the individual? Or do they believe that things can be manipulated - that we are all a bunch of disorganized dots that can be influenced.
We have a wonderful convergence happening in our world. Powerful interests behind the Global Network, the Internet and technology in general can work to subvert this energy of freedom - this great river of faith - that I like to think the Internet IS. This energy is threatening to companies that follow the "closed" command-control type model. Companies that are "open" will embrace and leverage their growth by riding on this new river of positive faith and energy.
But, there is a ton of negative energy in this world. It sloshes about and destroys everything in its wake - except those that follow the positive "open" approach.
MZIP either needs to dig deeper into his argument or come up with more substantive information to prove that closed systems, POWER, control and negativity will win out.
I think the forces of openness and freedom - brought on by the internet - are just beginning to drill down into the corporate enterprise. These are the same forces that are finally drilling down into the "Clinton Enterprise" model of opaqueness, spin, corruption and untruth. Drilling into the "Gates Enterprise" has just begun.
