Tom, thanks for your explanation of the term 'shotgunning.' At least squirt gunning runs along the same lines of thought, even worse, like literary diarrhea. I would love to know more about your trip to San Francisco and Berkeley, so please do tell us all about it. I can guess from your exposure to the homeless in San Francisco, that they really stuck out in Berkeley as well, particularly if you went anywhere near Telegraph Avenue and the University of California.
I guess it is irrelevant to know that if you live here, homeless people are usually encountered mostly if you go downtown, or to a couple of neighborhoods where they congregate, now that Golden Gate Park has been closed to their encampments. I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from moving here, or vacationing here, just because of them.
Really, I thought your poem was much stronger than mine. I would not say that if I did not believe it. And yes, there are rumors about a resident literary genius running the short story thread. ;^) |
