When I bought my home, I complained at the check-out that my kitchen counter sloped. I pulled out a level that I happened to have, the only one I had, in my tool kit. The level was about ten inches long. The builder discounted my claim because he said that my level was too short. He claimed that a longer level would show that the counter was level. I retorted that, if you had a long enough level, the Grand Canyon would be level.

We're using different length levels.

We're also opposing different things. You oppose government encroachment. I oppose all encroachment. You favor whatever resists government encroachment. I am wary of those resistors who want to substitute their own encroachment for the government encroachment. You see this as the government encroaching on the Church. I see this as both of them encroaching on the people.
