alraz,

On my MB, the white sticker is on the underside of the bottom ISA slot. I have to use a mirror to see it.

Ah there it is. I'll need to go back to some old messages and see what I'm looking for, then practice reading upside down and backwards a bit LOL. Last time I booted up I think I identified the area of the startup screen I need to record to hunt it down from one of the other links.

Is there a problem when you use slot 1

The only problem with slot 1 is intermittent memory test failures when I have 512MB in the machine. Moving to slot 2 did not really help. The same thing is happening. I really think the slots are fine.

One other thing to check is the bios settings under Chipset Features Setup. Mine are set as follows from top to bottom: 3, 3, Auto, Disabled, Non-ECC, Enabled, Enabled, Disabled, 1, 1, Disabled, Enabled, Disabled, 64, Disabled.

I don't even have the first two things in this list in my version of the BIOS. I see them in the manual I downloaded, but they are not in the manual I got with the motherboard, and not in the BIOS (at least I have no note of them from when I went through the whole thing to verify and record all the settings; I'll check again) "Auto" is not an option for CAS latency time in my version. I set it to 2, which is the spec for the memory. Everything else I have set as you do.

Looks like I need to upgrade the BIOS, and take it from there.
