Rtev, It appears they were able to keep a lid on the progress of negotiations. I thought that no talks had taken place beyond the initial meeting. I wonder if MSFT has realized that Jackson may not be as tough on them as the settlement could be. In any event, i think the states that are probably making it difficult are probably the ones under a lot of lobbying by their constituents. By that I mean the companies that are whining are located in those states.
It should just have been a DOJ case---there would have been some unbiased approach to the settlement.

However, as the trial progresses I think a settlement is imminent just because they appear to have already been talking unknown to most people. A settlement is likely to come down to the wire. A lot is going to depend upon how MSFT does in the rebuttal.
