Rick, you are right. They plan on rolling it out in three selected cities where AIDS is heavily concentrated. They will launch AndroVir in New York and Los Angeles. I forget the thrid city they will launch it in.

Jeff Goodman, the guy at the PR firm, said they would have a strong, concentrated advertizing campaign in their markets at the end of April. I asked him a few weeks ago what newspapers they would be advertizing in and he said they were still in the planning stages and that it had not been decided yet. He said it would be a major campaign, including possibly radio and TV. I wonder how PRLN is paying for this. Perhaps they are giving stock to the PR firm and the PR firm is fronting the money for the media. Who knows? But I share your concerns that they may be running low on funds.

I think that IF there is a major initial advertizing campaign and IF AndroVir works as well as we hope, then word of mouth could be quite effective even if only a few dozen people try it in the beginning. PRLN can't make claims about the efficacy of AndroVir, but the FDA can't stop patients from talking about it. And the AIDS community is one of the most highly organized communities there is. It will only take a few people putting in a good word on an online AIDS bulletin board to get the ball rolling.
