I hope none. Non-Democratic nations aren't responsible enough to be part of a league of nations that are fit to lead our world to a better place.

I've been a manager as well as a father for very many years. One thing I know is how to motivate people to achieve some good objective. That is the problem with the U.N. today, they give bad countries power and incentives when they don't deserve them. If we had a U.D.N., which held all the levers of power and wealth, then all the other countries would work to achieve Democratic and Human Rights certification, so they could become a part of it.

But nowadays we let Cuba and Iran head up the Human Rights commission, as if they had anything of value to add to that. Look how hard China has worked to gain WTO ascension. Countries will work to reform their governments, economy, and human rights record, if there are benefits to be had as a part of the global community. If they can get all the benefits without the hard work, then they will do so.

Why do you think the Middle East is so screwed up? Ironically, it is their oil wealth that has ennabled the repressive leaders of that country to avoid reform for so many decades. It is their boon and their curse. It's possible that they are irreformable until their oil wealth runs out. But we can work with those other countries in the world that have no wealth other than the brain power of their people.
