Aug. 17, 2006--VERSAR, Inc. announced that it was awarded two additional Pay-for-Performance (PFP) leaking underground storage tank (LUST) cleanup sites by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ), totaling $373,000. This brings to four the number of LUST sites awarded Versar by NDEQ, totaling over $766,000. Versar has proposed and implemented a mix of proven and innovative technologies to remediate groundwater at the LUST sites. In November, 2005, Versar achieved the first site closure under NDEQ's PFP LUST cleanup program. Freeds Corner, located in Central City, Nebraska, was cleaned up and closed 18 months ahead of schedule and under budget.
