Tom Friedman is not a candidate for office Sorry, I understood you to say that you had heard no alternatives. Didn't realize that you were speaking only of candidates for President. Moreover, those three points are not a policy, and are not even opposed to Bush Administration policy. They're an approach that can be implemented without invading Iraq as well as in addition to invading Iraq. Thus they are an alternative to invading Iraq.
