Jeff, I believe you confirmed what Gary and I are saying all along. Many Americans, especially those who will vote for Clinton, aren't educated about how the government affects their way of living and their future financial success. I often argue that if one closely looks at their last paycheck for the end of year and examines the YTD totals for all taxes; federal, state, and city and also FICA and Medicare, collected, that maybe they would begin to wonder where is all their hard earned money going to and what benefit have they received from it. For most of us its 40% every year. Dole's right, its my money!
And Jeff its your money too, and I'm sure both of us have better things to do with it (such as investing!)

I don't care much about what Reed, Bauer, etc espouse, but what has Newt done to you? I'll admit that I think he is arrogant and I think he should have met Clinton halfway on the Medicare issue instead of letting the government shut down. (Republicans were proposing to cut growth by 270 million and Clinton wanted to cut growth by 120 million or so). He gave Clinton the line-item veto and welfare reform.
The Democrats couldn't even give Clinton that in his first two years.

I believe Clinton's record really stirs the emotions of many moderates, like myself. I don't understand the Dole campaign strategy. Its never been on track. Frankly, I think Lee Attwater is missed. I think he is the only one who could get Jim Carville more hyper than he is now.
