It depends on what you mean by hosed. He has stated his goal as getting his entrance and exit points within 5% of the turn points (referenced to the S&P 500, I think), so the market could even go a little below last fall's low and still allow him to meet his goal.

When it comes to market timing, people have a tendency to set unrealistic expectations. The real test of his bull and bear market calls is whether his entry and exit points beat traditional investment strategies. Intervening periods where the market goes against him are not entirely relevant unless they cause people to panic out of their positions. (The QQQ deal shook people's confidence in him, so there is a real possibility of that happening.)
