How could the French have taken on Germany in 1936 - get real! For one thing the world was looking for peace - remember the debate in the Oxford Union? France would have been branded an agressor. The thesis is proposterous and you must surely know it. The funny thing about all of this is that France has actually dared oppose the US and it can't be forgiven, so you and others here are dredging up all of this stuff. How dare anyone challenge the US of A - even though it's behaving as an international criminal! The bull's in the china shop now - watch out. I hope the General Assembley s convened as happened at the time of Suez - at the instigation of the US BTW.
