It is fast becoming obvious that there is more playing politics to this than anything else. If the dems get the chance to derail our efforts in Iraq they will take it and I will be the first to blame them for the genocide that takes place if they manage to remove our troops.

Aside from the absolute stupidity on display in the pictures themselves, that's the single most obvious thing about it. The same voices claiming the loudest what a stain it will be forever are the very ones most interested in seeing to it that it <font size=4>becomes<font size=3> enshrined as a stain forever. And ensuring that whatever response we make is framed as equally compromised and inadequate.

It's frustrating to me that so many are just falling right into that groove, as if we just have no choice but to flagellate ourselves over it. What other great nation in the history of the planet would be doing this to itself?
