Heavy coverage of the merger on Lehrer Show on PBS... Ken Auletta from New Yorker Magazine being interviewed quotes from the show: Regarding Mr. Armstrong... "very bold move betting the farm acting like an entrepenuer" on MSFT part of the equation: "trying to get a seat at the cable table position in the cable box is what they want...O/S Spurned by cable industry this will increase their entry and foothold." What is the consumer stake? "ambivilance, but they want the whole concept of ONE SERVICE PROVIDER~! Bundled service. But all worry about the competition of the internet price and jacking up the prices of the services?" Where does it leave AOL? They want you to pay them for the internet access, but they have to beware of ATT doing the same thing. AOL is going to the local bells to do the same thing. LOVE the word GATEKEEPER he used... Armstrong ain't doing what a Bell executive/telephone company should do...THANK GOD! chris
