DlphcOracl...

<recognize that we are firmly in a bull market>

i wouldn't say "firmly"...but we are in one.

i think warnings will be less drastic and less in number...also more upward guidance.

There will be companies who didn't adjust fast enough and they will suffer longer...just as those who adjust quickly, worked through inventory and will recover faster.

nothing goes up or down all the time...we will gyrate...but trend is up.

Some shorted today and will make money at the open...question is will that be the low for tomorrow or will we sell of later...

i have the sense that the bigger players are getting involved...the 2 trillion will be slowly put to work with the minority chasing and majority buying dips...

Shorts will never "capitulate" 100%...no need for them to...A good friend of mine made millions shorting in 99 and 2000 on the way UP to 5k...of course he made much more on the way down...but it can be done...although one can argue that he could have made much more going long...

I for one believe that one must trade in the direction he/she feels the market is heading while keeping positions that will benefit if the market heads the opposite way...The best way is to hold puts...imo...fairly cheap with a good return if it really goes the other way...

Palm having bad earnings doesn't mean too much except for palm.

Csco, cien, dell, jnpr, A, those companies have an effect...
