<the fed can sucessfully engage in this behaviour for many years to come. it is all about one thing and one thing only: the largest transfer of wealth scheme ever devised and carried out successfully. lather ,rinse and repeat ad infinitum. as long as the worlds population continues to grow, and the masses have some tiny bit of wealth to transfer, the game goes on.>

Wouldn't you expect the ongoing carry trade to reverse in a big way? I somehow doubt the big bad bankers will be able to cash out before the shit hits the fan and I bet the savers will be happy they've been saving as the debtors with actual wealth get their equity wiped out. I see phoney wealth created in overvalued residential real estate in this country spending their newfound wealth on more toys and property while the masses not in that game are happy to continue to consume beyond their means and buy things on credit. The masses are happier today than ever cause they can buy things previous generations never could have at the low end of the scale. Almost better not to be middle and upper middle class these days cause that is where the biggest decline in standard of living occurs next down cycle IMHO.
