I'll have a look at this. I started off doing it with an xxx message delay because I know messageid is the primary key for that table. I haven't checked to see if date_created is the first item in any other indexes, and it wouldn't surprise me if it weren't. If it's not, I'm not going to want to use date_created as a filter. Not on a nearly 20M row table.

iHub has that field indexed *only* because it's a selectable criterium when doing searches.

Trimming update: 4.7M rows remain in folder_links, 2.1M of which are links to only 5 remaining system messages.

We're taking the site down for a few hours tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon to free up the unused space in folder_links and to make a local backup of the entire database. Pass it on.
