well, perceptions are one thing, the other is the fact that the bubble of leverage upon leverage gets blown up ever more, and the Fed helps the process along with giant liquidity injections. they can't turn them off as it were...we have seen what happens when money supply growth so much as slows down from 10% to 6% annualized...the NAZ crashed by 40% two weeks later. it's either let the bubble grow bigger, or it collapses...there is no middle ground.
